Food delivery after birth in Stockholm
 

Order postpartum food to your home or to the hospital.

 

A quality meal is perhaps the most loving gift you can give to a new mother and her family. Nourishing, easily digestible and thoughtfully prepared food communicates to the mother that she is safe and cared for, thus helping to protect the space around her and her baby.

 

The food I cook...

 

  • is nutritious so that the mother can continue to nurture her baby through her breast milk without risking postpartum depletion

  • is warm and slow-cooked to facilitate digestion and preserve the mother's energy reserves

  • also stimulates digestion with spices that have warming properties

  • contains ingredients with grounding properties to help "close" the body after birth

 

Enjoy well-prepared food made from organic root vegetables, bones from grass-fed animals, and high-quality spices.

All food is made to order and delivered fresh the same day.​

Postpartum food for healing and recovery

I offer two different menus including a blended soup, a bone broth and a tea. The first menu is suitable directly after birth, while the second menu is more appropriate from day 7 and onwards. The broths can be used as a base in soups and stews, or enjoyed just as they are.

1) Spiced root vegetable soup, bone broth with cinnamon and jujube, and tea with toasted rice and ginger

900 kr (1299 kr for double broth)

​Contains:

  • 10 dl spiced root vegetable soup

  • 10 dl bone broth (or 2 x 10 dl)

  • 2 servings of tea​

 

Sweet root vegetables and gently warming spices make this soup a perfect meal in the first days after birth. The soup is based on my homemade bone broth and coconut milk, with fat which is both filling and facilitates digestion. 

​

The bone broth is made with harmonizing jujube and vitalizing cinnamon. The collagen in the broth aids in the recovery of stretched tissues.

 

The tea is a mix of toasted rice and dried ginger, and has a mild but warming flavor. It is a classic postpartum drink in Traditional Chinese Medicine that is often recommended to mothers in the week following birth.

2) Saffron soup with carrot, golden chicken broth, and tea with nettle and gojiberry

 

800 kr (1099 kr for double broth)

​Contains:

  • 10 dl saffron soup

  • 10 dl chicken broth (or 2 x 10 dl)

  • 2 servings of tea​

 

The soup is made from carrot and almonds, and is spiced with saffron which has positive effects on mild depressive symptoms and anxiety. 

​

The chicken broth contains anti-inflammatory ingredients like fresh turmeric and ginger. It is good to drink as it is or with an added teaspoon of dark miso.

 

The tea is a blend of mineral and vitamin C rich nettle and sweet goji berries, which are also rich in vitamin C. This vitamin is heat sensitive, so it is best to not use boiling water when making this herbal infusion. I recommend filling the cup halfway with cold water, and then filling up with hot water.

The dishes are made to order and delivered refrigerated.​ To avoid unnecessary waste, the food comes in glass jars that can be cleaned to be returned, reused or recycled.​
 

Payment can be made with Swish upon delivery, or invoice if desired.
