Who's behind Postpartum.se?
Julianna Werner, certified postpartum doula and educator
I think all families deserve informed support and nurturing care following birth. Above all, I believe in the importance of meeting the needs of the mother so that her energy can be used for healing and recovery, breastfeeding and tending to the baby's needs.
My scope of practice includes providing postpartum care to promote a smooth recovery, cooking postpartum appropriate meals, supporting the family emotionally and practically, and educating about infant feeding, infant care and sleep.
I am based in Stockholm and work with families who speak both Swedish and English.
Services at Postpartum.se
I support families before birth through my postpartum planning course, and during the weeks and months after birth as a postpartum doula. Since I believe that food is one of the most important parts of postpartum care, I also deliver home-made meals to postpartum families around Stockholm. Postpartum doulas trained with Postpartum.se.
Together with Susannah Rickman I teach Sweden's most comprehensive postpartum doula training. The training is online every year with 42 lectures over 21 weekends. The contents are quality approved by ODIS and all of our doulas have the opportunity to certify through the organisation after completing the training. Our training is built on evidence about what newborn mothers need and desire. We train our doulas to create safety around new mothers and to enhance healing in a variety of realistic scenarios.
